Heart of the Hills Wine Trail Experience

9.30 am

Depart Perth traveling along Great Eastern Highway, through Guildford and Midland to Mundaring.

10.30 am

Arrive at your first winery Darlington Estate. This winery offers wine tastings and cellar door sales. The restaurant is famous for its ambience, atmosphere and rustic surroundings combined with unsurpassed quality of produce and service, attested to by its many prestigious awards and positive media reviews.

11.15 am

Avalon is an award winning boutique vineyard nestled in the Perth Hills on a south-facing slope with wonderful valley views across the tree-tops. It takes its name from the mythical paradise island from the legend of King Arthur, a real oasis from 21st century life. The vineyard is located on the gravelly slopes of the Darling Scarp and was established in 1987.

11.45 am

Malmalling Vineyard have only recently opened a cellar door offering  tastings and light lunches on weekends and public holidays.

12.30 pm

Looking to taste and purchase some fine wines or enjoy a superb café style lunch? Lion Mill Vineyards offer both of these activities in a picturesque setting overlooking two vineyards. The winery has a range of  red and white wines, a desert style cane cut Semillon, as well as a sparkling white and sparkling shiraz both produced by the traditional method. Scrumptious lunches and mouth-watering deserts are served in the air-conditioned café or on the verandah in these delightful rural surroundings.

2.00 pm

Chidlow’s Well Estate was established in 1995 taking its name from the original railway station and town site located in the heart of the Perth hills. This boutique winery is gaining a reputation for its quality wines and produces Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Verdelho, Shiraz, Sparkling Chenin, Sparkling Shiraz and the latest edition a Classic white.

2.45 pm

Finish the day at Lake Charlotte Winery Restaurant/CaféEnjoy the peaceful surrounds and glorious views of the lake and countryside from the decking while sipping a glass of own wine.  Gourmet platters are also available using predominantly local products and all desserts are freshly baked on the premises.

Bickley & Carmel Valley Wine Trail Experience

9.30 am Depart Perth traveling along Great Eastern Highway to Tonkin Highway and then head up the hill along Welshpool Road.
10.00 am Arrive at your first winery Fairbrossen. A family owned and operated vineyard with sweeping views to the State Forest, gourmet vineyard platters to enjoy picnic style, delicious Devonshire Teas with homemade jam, wine tasting and purchase are all available at the cellar door
10.45 am

Next winery to visit is Myattsfield. One of the newest cellar doors in the valley, private tours of the barrel room tours are a real treat.

11.30 am All the wines at Cosham are made from grapes hand-picked from the vineyard and carefully aged in underground cellars prior to release. The sparkling wine is a speciality of this winery. Cosham also produces a chardonnay, a dry red pinot noir, shiraz and a cabernet merlot blend.
12 noon

Hainault is the highest vineyard in the state at 400 m elevation. It is a family owned and operated boutique vineyard nestled in jarrah forest and provides a great stop for lunch. Varieties grown include Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay, Semillon, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

1.30 pm Brookside vineyard is planted on a gentle slope flanking Piesse Brook. Established in 1984 the vineyard is planted with chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon varieties.  The methode champenoise was one of the first in the region and has won a number of awards
2.00 pm Next stop on the trail is Lawnbrook Wines.
2.30 pm For lovers of Pinot Noir, Ashley Estate is a must offering a vertical tasting experience of this exquisite red in the underground cellar.
3.00 pm Established in 1974 Piesse Brook Wines offers tastings of Chardonnay, Cabernova, Cabernet/Merlot, Cabernet/Shiraz, Cabernet, Merlot, Shiraz and Rose.
3.30 pm Finish the day at Carlden Estate, set in rich red gum country the passion of host Dennis Humprey really shines through in his presentation of wine.

Chittering Valley Wine Trail Experience

9.30 am Depart Perth traveling along Great Eastern Highway, through Guildford and  Midland and then head north along Great Northern Highway, through Bullsbrook and along Chittering Valley Road.
10.30 am Arrive at your first winery Kyotmunga Estate. Located on an elevated site overlooking the Brockman River and the Avon Valley National Park this winery offers one of the most spectacular views in the Chittering Valley. The property was originally a citrus orchard but is now planted with three hectares of wine grapes and 200 olive trees. Wine, olive oil, olives, dukkah and citrus fruit in season are all available for tasting and sales at cellar door.
11.15 am

Next winery to visit on the trail is Western Range Wines, initially established in 1998 the wines produced here are gaining much recognition for the Perth Hills region with a string of awards and accolades. It is also the only winery in the Chittering Valley to produce and organic wine.

12 noon

Looking for something to eat? Stringybark Winery & Restaurant offers a unique combination of wonderful food and award winning regional wines located amongst the vines and surrounded by natural bush and local birdlife.

1.30 pm White Dog Farm Fine Wines a small boutique vineyard grew from humble beginnings in 1999 when the first cabernet sauvignon and merlot vines were planted. This modern cellar door sells  limited numbers of vintage methodé traditonalle, rosé/light red and cabernet merlot blend. A small number of olive trees were also planted in 1999 and over the last 5 years White Dog Farm has also been producing award winning extra virgin olive oil.
2.15 pm Finish the day at Briery Estate set in the verdant hills of Bindoon in the Darling Ranges the vineyard produces a variety of excellent classic and new style wines. The red wines are rich and plummy whilst the whites tend to be luscious and aromatic. The estate also produces a Port and Muscat which are also a must to try.
